ITINERARY
Meet the driver at the cruise facility and depart to the Carrara marble quarries. Travel along the marble valleys, stop in the most scenic places and reach almost 1000 m. altitude in order to see the quarry-men at work (in workdays) and enjoy such a unique scenario. During the sightseeing will be explained the methods of excavation and transportation of marble. Afterwards visit (in workdays) a marble workshop in order to watch the artisans at work.
Lunch time can be spent in Colonnata, the oldest quarry-men village for savoring the quarry-men’s snack, or by the sea in one of the quaint coastal towns of the Tuscan Riviera.
After lunch, visit on your own the town of Pisa home of one of the “World’s Eight Wonders” the Leaning Tower located in the middle of the Miracles Field where are located even the cathedral, the Baptistery and the Monumental cemetery of Pisa.
Afterwards, head back to Livorno.
